OUR HISTORY

  • 1933

    The Radio Boosters Club was organized.

  • 1945

    The Los Angeles chapter of “The Representatives” evolved from the Radio Boosters Club.

  • 1951

    We incorporated as a non-profit: The Los Angeles Chapter of Representatives, Inc.

  • 1960

    We started producing tabletop shows that bring out customers to see our people and products.

  • 1961

    Our name was amended to: The Southern California Chapter of The Electronic Representatives Association.

  • 1995

    Our chapter created Owner’s Forums. Harrison Frank moderated most of them, with occasional guest hosts.

  • 2004

    Distributor members started joining us to add another perspective to ERA!

  • 1980

    We celebrate our 35th Anniversary!

ABOUT US

For nearly 90 years, we have been a unifying force in the electronics industry, working to advance and support global and local progress by offering programs, services, and activities that educate, inform, and advocate for manufacturer’s representatives, the principals they represent, and the distributors who partner with them in the marketplace.

Our local chapter is a member-based organization led by a committed group of volunteers who provide guidance and oversight to our association’s operations.  Their dedication, expertise, and passion have been instrumental in advancing our industry.  We are proud of our ability to adapt and grow, and we will continue to do so with the support of our members and volunteers. Our territory stretches from Central California (San Luis Obispo), South to the Mexican Border and East to the Arizona Border. Our territory typically includes Clark County (Las Vegas) in Southern Nevada and many members also have the Mexican State of Baja included in their contracts.

Electronic Representative Association’s Chicago headquarters serves as the hub for a range of programs, publications, and member benefits that cater to the diverse needs of its members.  We are honored to be entrusted by National to instill the same mission and values at a local level.
